Micro Watch with support from the Ashanti Chapter of the Ghana Association of Credit Unions Managers (GHACUM) have organized the 2019 edition of its mid-year conference at the Yeguaa Hotel in Asante Bekwai.
It was themed; “Rebranding and Digitization for Sustainability of Credit Unions in Ashanti Chapter and was well attended by Managers and Chairpersons of Credit Unions across the Region.

Dr. Charles Anane the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Cooperative Credit Union Association, (CUA) gave the welcome address. He commended Micro Watch and the chapter executives for the novelty they introduced in this year’s event and called for more of those collaborations.

He underscored the relevance of the chosen theme to the present and future of Co-operative Credit Unions in Ghana. Dr. Anane explained that rebranding is necessary for the evolution of Credit Unions into financial institutions of impact in the lives of its members and the national economy. This efforts if implemented hand in hand with digitization will create a new direction and position of impress for Credit Unions in Ghana economy as a whole.
In his keynote speech the General Manager of CUA, Mr. Emmanuel Coffie assured members that the association is working to recover locked up funds of its members. He promised to formidable collaboration with managers of Credit Unions to promote their interest for development.
Participants were imparted with indebt knowledge and skills on various subjects pertinent to the progress and sustainability of Credit Unions by Seasoned trainers.
Mr. Harrison Ahogba, an expert in customer service handle the topic “The influence of Credit Union rebranding on customer satisfaction, brand and staff loyalty to maximize profit” whiles Nana Ama Adusei focused on “Digital marketing as a tool to maximize Profit amongst Credit Unions”.
Also Mr. Eric Quartey a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers spoke on the “Effective credit delivery and monitoring to avert loan delinquency amongst credit union and Vigilance against Fraud and Anti-Money laundering”.
Mr. Oduro Darko, former General Manager of CUA addressed participants on “rebranding of credit unions to withsatand the current challenges in Ghana’s financial sector”
bringing the 2019 Mid-Year seminar to an insightful end.
