Association of rural banks(ARB)-Ghana in collaboration with ARB APEX Bank Ltd. held their 7th Rural
Banking week celebration last saturday, 16th November 2019. The celebration was held at Takoradi Technical University.
The theme for the celebration was “THE ROLE OF RURAL AND COMMUNITY BANKS(RCBs) IN THE FINANCIAL INCLUSION”
The celebration was started with a float through the principal streets of Sekondi-Takoradi.
First Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr. Maxwell Opoku Afari in his address among other things mentioned the banking and other special deposit institution sector is currently better, strong and in better position to withstand external shocks compared to the situation at the beginning of 2017 and that, the remaining institutions are better capitalized, liquid, profitable and more efficient to manage their adverse external development.
Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah (Western Regional Minister) and Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim the 2nd( Omanhene of Wassa Amemfi traditional area) were present to grace the Celebration.
