Second Credit Unions Rebranding Conference Massively Attended

The General Manager of the of the Credit Union Association, Mr. Emmanuel Coffie has opened the second edition of the Credit Union Rebranding Conference at the Credit Union training Center at Kasoa in the Central Region. It is themed; “Developing Innovative Brand for Credit Unions VIS-À-VIS the Ghanaian Financial Sector Challenges”. He deliberated that, with the conference is another significant milestone in the history of the Credit Union Movement in Ghana.
“Without your participation in the various activities of the movement all our efforts will be in vain. My fellow Co-operators, we might not have all the solutions to the issue of poverty confronting us as a people, but one thing I know is that, if we are able to find answers to local and national challenges through collaboration and sharing of knowledge, then we can as well apply same principles to the solution of our problems thereby reducing the poverty to the barest minimum, he explained.
Mr. James Addison dealt with “Building member confidence; the role of emotional intelligence. He emphasized the need for empathy in the operations of Credit Unions to promote growth and customer satisfaction.
The topic; “Effective risk management for development of Credit Unions was facilitated by Mr. Kofi Adimado, a principal Consultant at Candid Management & Financial Consult (Corporate Trainers, Banking & Finance). A Retired Banking Executive who holds a MBA, Warwick Business School, Coventry, UK, BA(Ed), University of Cape Coast; Dip. D’Etudes Francaises, Universite de Dijon France. An experienced Board Treasurer of the Queen of Peace Co-operative Credit Union in Accra.
He called on Credit Unions to adopt effective risk management skills to protect member savings and promote growth amongst Credit Unions. Mr. Adimado admonished Credit Unions to eschew complacency and embrace ingenuity.
Mr. Jeremiah Tetteh, a customer relations expert took participants through “building Staff band loyalty for effective customer relationship”.
Day one of the Credit Union ended with most participants expressing gratification at the insightfulness and success of the event.
